Rugby betting
Rugby is a game that consists of two sides competing against each other with both sides trying too win, although a draw is always possible.
The teams themselves in Rugby League and Rugby Union are both made up off fifteen players on each side, the only difference between the two is that there are different rules that apply to both of the games.
Similarities and differences between Rugby Union and Rugby League
The main differences are that in ‘rugby union’, there are no limits of tackles made by the opponents on the forward going team therefore unless the team concedes a foul or the ball goes out of play they can be tackled as many times as they like. While in ‘rugby league’ there is a maximum of five tackles in which after that they must either kick the ball and go for a try or kick the ball in to touch, or there is always the option that they can go for the try but if there was a successful 6th tackle made by the opposition, then the game would restart and the other team would begin from where the tackle was made.
Rules that applies in both games
There is one main rule that applies in both the games which is that the ball must be passed backwards at all times, if the ball is deemed to have been a forward pass then the team will automatically concede a penalty.
Rugby sports betting guide
The other main difference between the two is in ‘rugby league’ once a player has been tackled the opposition must move away from the player and play will continue when the player who was tackled re-start by back heeling the ball to a player on his own team, who from there will continue the play.
Betting on rugby is fairly hard when the handicapping is involved cause the odds offered on both the teams will be evens or odds against, so for these bets to be placed the customer would have to be placing large amounts of funds.
You can bet without the handicap in which case you will receive a larger price, on the outsider of the two teams. The most effective and profitable from winning through betting on rugby is either through who will be the first try scorer, which normally guarantees a price 4/1 or greater, or the alternative is to bet on the final points difference between the two teams.
Also you will always have the betting the betting at the beginning of every season or cup, in which case unless there is an odds on favorite for the league or cup. The prices will normally generally good, also you can get each way betting on them as well which pays half the odds.
The highest amounts that can be won would be determined on the stake placed by the customer, for example for picking the first try scorer at 6/1 and placing a bet of 100 pound you would get back 700 pound which would be inclusive on the stake that you placed, also for big winners you would need to do for example a yankee, treble or double etc. That way you would only have to place a medium sized stake to win a large sum back, for example if you were to a £10 double at 6/1 and 7/1, you would receive £70 back and then that would bounce onto the next bet at 7/1 giving you £550 return.
So our advice when betting on Rugby would be to go for first try scorer or the finishing points difference at the end of the game. As for placing bets, this can be done at all bookmakers around the UK, or alternatively the internet where they are available 24 hours a day and you can also bet in running.
