There are 27 racecourses in Ireland – more per head of population that any other country in the world.
One of the courses that hosts some of the biggest races in the calendar, is the Leopardstown Racecourse. It was completed in 1888, built by Captain George Quin offers history of Irish horse races and claims as well to be one of Europe’s premier racetracks.
